Zhengzhou Security Expo 2015

2025-01-13
At the beginning of 2023, the Cultural Department of Sichuan Province announced the launch of a cultural relics census across the province, aiming to comprehensively grasp the status of cultural relics resources and provide a scientific basis for the protection and utilization of cultural relics. This is an important measure for Sichuan Province to strengthen the protection of cultural relics and promote the development of cultural undertakings.

This census will cover the entire territory of Sichuan Province, including all types of immovable cultural relics and movable cultural relics. The census team is composed of professional cultural relics workers and experts in related fields. They will go deep into the grassroots, rural areas and remote areas to register, classify and evaluate all types of cultural relics. Through field investigations and data sorting, the quantity, distribution, preservation status and value characteristics of cultural relics in Sichuan Province will be comprehensively grasped.

It is understood that Sichuan Province has rich cultural relics resources, including various immovable cultural relics such as ancient ruins, ancient tombs, ancient buildings, grotto temples and stone carvings, as well as movable cultural relics such as bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy and paintings, and rare ancient books. These cultural relics carry the long history and splendid culture of Sichuan and are precious wealth of the Chinese nation.

This census will make full use of modern technological means, such as unmanned aerial vehicle aerial photography, 3D scanning, and big data analysis, to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the census. At the same time, the census team will strengthen communication and cooperation with local governments, cultural relics collection units and the public, and widely solicit opinions and suggestions to ensure the scientific and comprehensive nature of the census.

Relevant responsible persons of the Cultural Department of Sichuan Province said that through this census, we hope to comprehensively grasp the status of cultural relics resources in Sichuan Province and provide a scientific basis for formulating cultural relics protection policies, planning cultural relics protection projects, and promoting the rational utilization of cultural relics. At the same time, cooperation and exchanges with domestic and international cultural relics protection institutions will also be strengthened, and advanced experience and technical means will be drawn upon to continuously improve the cultural relics protection capabilities and levels of Sichuan Province.

It is reported that the Sichuan Provincial Government will provide necessary funds and technical support to ensure the smooth progress of the census. Governments at all levels and relevant departments will also attach great importance to and cooperate with the census to jointly promote the cause of cultural relics protection in Sichuan Province to a new level.
